For years, I had no idea it was possible to make ranch dressing homemade. I had no clue what was in the stuff.  Where do I even begin to make it homemade in order to avoid all the ingredients I can’t pronounce?

Back when I was in Texas eons ago, I had been invited over to someone’s home for dinner and my host said all she needed to do was make the ranch dressing. I had expected her to just open a packet and add it to either mayonnaise or sour cream. Nope!

She mixed mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, and a bunch of dried herbs and spices together. I was shocked. Could it really be that easy? Turns out it was. Game changer that night in her Texas kitchen.Homemade Ranch Dressing and Dip ~ A lightened up version of ranch dressing with both Greek yogurt and mayonnaise and fresh herbs ~ The Complete SavoristNow, I have to be honest, I still go for convenience at times and open a bottle. But I sure do love homemade. Then when I decided I needed to be a bit healthier in my eating, I started swapping out the sour cream and some of the mayo for greek yogurt. The tang is still there, as is the creaminess, but there is a little less fat. Now I still use some mayo because a non-fat ranch is just, well, gross. There I said it.

With all the games going on and all the appetizers I have been making, a batch of homemade ranch was needed and I decided I really should share it with y’all. (The Texan seeps out from time to time.)

This isn’t a fancy Homemade Ranch Dressing and Dip and you can mix it up so many different ways. But it is good. Seriously, spoon-eating, good. Homemade Ranch Dressing and Dip ~ A lightened up version of ranch dressing with both Greek yogurt and mayonnaise and fresh herbs ~ The Complete Savorist

I love homemade ranch and your recipe looks delicious. I like that it’s easier to adjust the herbs to your particular taste preference, and I love the addition of Worcestershire sauce in your recipe!

I usually make this from scratch but in a weak moment I grabbed a bottle at the store the other week and almost instantly regretted it. It always tastes better homemade! Can’t wait to try this recipe 🙂

I love ranch dressing!! I make it a lot, but I’ve actually never made it with yogurt. I see that enough that it must be really good. I’ll have to try it that way soon 🙂

Home made Ranch Dressing for the win! :o) I put ranch on so many things, that I am regularly having to add it to my grocery list. Now I don’t have to! And yes, I, like you, may eat this with only a spoon! Yum!

I need to make my own ranch since I love it on nearly everything…but I won’t feel quite as guilty eating it if it is homemade!

I have made healthier versions of Ranch before, but, your recipe looks so much better. I like your use of fresh parsley and chives.
